Pre ordered fish and chips. Arrived at fish bar and food was ready after only a couple of minutes - lovely and fresh, hot and tasty with crispy chips and batter. Obviously due to higher costs (no fault of the resturant), this is no longer a cheap meal. But, well worth it 👌

Had an extremely good large cod and regular chips. Good size fish, fresh and perfectly cooked with a light clean batter. The chips were excellent - fresh, firm, good colour and the right potato type. Very impressive. 😃👍🏻👍🏻

Now if it was possible to give 10 ⭐ then we would, we went here whilst we were visiting Kent and East Sussex Railway, getting a bit peckish and had some time to wait before the train left, really short walk from the station, thought it was a restaurant but it was a takeaway, so we took the food back to the station and sat on one of their benches, but the food was amazing, never tasted fish so good, 😋😋😋😋😋 had a piece of rockeel, it was massive, well worth the money.- Meal type

One of the best fish and chips meals I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious and what made it even better was they had pickled eggs and gerkins! Thank you we will be back!

Excellent cod and chips. Chips are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - almost like eating a buttery jacket potato. Cod was lovely and a huge portion. Great value for money. Staff incredibly friendly. Not much more you could want!

Phenomenal fish and chips, served with a smile. Ordered 2 lge Cod and 1 lge Chips, received 4 pieces of Cod and more than enough lge chips for 2. Plus I received change out of £14.00. I think I will move here. Try you will not regret. 👌
It's takeaway only. Good quality is good but likely to take 10-20 minutes. You've got to wait for freshly cooked food!

Best take-away chips ever, by large haddock they mean LARGE. Just 2 mins from New Romney RD&H rail station and with council provided bench and litter bin opposite on green. What's not to like?

Have always had good service and great fish & chips from here. The dog liked his too!
Chicken and chips were really nice. Potatoes seemed like new, which can be a problem to cook, but they were really nice. It might help being quite thickly cut chips. With most places, quarter chicken is alright. This was quite tasty. Would recommend.

Wonderful food, though they cook from fresh so you may have to show some patience and wait..but it will be worth it. They have a good menu and the staff are friendly and very hardworking. This is a very busy fish and chip shop, and rightly so. They have never let me down in four years I have been coming here. The best chip shop in New Romney.
Freshly cooked fish and chips. Great price and really good menu. Large Cod was large and lovely and chips were great. Definitely recommend this shop.
Full disclosure, this is my Dad's shop. So hard not to be biased! But a little back story about the family that runs this little gem... My Dad has worked this shop for more than 25 years (probably 28 as he's been doing it for longer than I have been around!) and has been in the …More reviews

My Dad has worked this shop for more than 25 years (probably 28 as he's been doing it for longer than I have been around!) and has been in the family since my Grandad started it...
My mum and dad have been working the shop together for some years now and blood, sweat and tears go into this shop to give their customers the best service, value and quality. Local loyal customers will tell you as such.
The fish and chips is second to none and whenever I am home, I will always try to grab a few chips. More if I can!
If you are reading this as a first time visitor to New Romney and the Marsh, you will not be disappointed by this place. As shown in the picture, it can get very busy at peak times on a Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening so you may need to wait for your fish to be freshly cooked (especially haddock and plaice) but the queues reflect how busy it can be, not the length of the wait!
Hope that helps :)THE BEST FISH AND CHIP SHOP I KNOW IN THE AREA! Chips are great, the staff are friendly and they do not keep you waiting a long time. No matter how long the queue you will get your food in less than 15 minutes! No matter how bored you get, you can read the fliers around the shop.…More reviews

My friend goes there once a week and is always highly satisfied with the food especially the chips. Keep up the fantastic work Rod and Line! We'll be seeing you soon in the near future!Opening hours
